When choosing my topic for the rational argument, I focused on topics that are current issues in our world today. There were a lot of topics that I considered based on my focus, and some were controversial while others weren't controversial. In the end, I decided to go with climate change as my topic for the last writing. One reason I chose climate change is that it isn't a very controversial topic. For example, if I were to use gun control as my topic, I could run into issues with opinions on it when doing research, and with people who could read my essay. With climate change, I can write an essay about climate change without running into many problems with opinion about it, and most people believe that climate change is real.
Climate change also isn't talked about that much or is focused on too greatly either. This is surprising to me because climate change is a big issue with our world today, and it could affect how we live on Earth. Specifically, if we keep doing things to affect the climate, like polluting the air with gas emissions, polluting the oceans or water in general, and simply not throwing our trash away or recycling properly. To conclude, I'm excited to write about this issue for my last big writing in the class and will research deeply about this topic.
